We removed an existing shake roof and installed new Stone Coated Steel Shingles. We also removed the cupola and covered up the area with a ridge vent. The stone coated metal roof features custom metal flashing where the roof meets the existing home for extra protection in high usage areas. The stone coated metal roof has a 50 year warranty and because it is non-porous is less susceptible to mold and mildew like the old cedar shake roof. And although Global doesn’t do landscaping, we were able to remove the plants growing in the gutters and replace them with new RainPro seamless gutters featuring a larger downspout for the ability to hold and disperse more water.
This complex metal roof project started with the removal of a 20 year-old cedar shake roof. The homeowner wanted to keep the character of the house and roof which also included a built-in yankee gutter to be re-done in stainless steel. As you can see from the finished pictures, the Medium Bronze Standing Seam metal roof contrasts perfectly with the stone exterior. The clean lines of the metal roof work well with this 19th century farm house located in Bucks County, PA. In addition, to add curb appeal, the homeowner can now enjoy 50+ years of maintenance free roofing!
This standing seam metal roof project in Bucks County came out beautifully. This ranch home was looking to add an eye catching design element that would make their house stand out in the neighborhood. Not only did the colonial red metal roof match the American flag in the front yard but it contrasted nicely with the existing white and brick exterior. Furthermore, because this is a ranch home, and only has a small attic space, the customer was thrilled when their new metal roof reduced their home energy bill and almost eliminated the need for air conditioning during the summer months. Not only is metal roofing Energy Star rated but it is also 100% recyclable at the end of it’s very long life cycle.
This project is especially special for Global Home Improvement because it was the first home (out of 10) that we did a full siding and window replacement for. The problem with these homes was the stucco that was installed was not done properly and had a 90% failure rate on homes within 10 years. Here at Global Home Improvement, we are experts at stucco remediation and replacement with James Hardie siding. Also, since we were replacing the stucco we also installed new construction Marvin Windows that made sure any water issues in and around the windows were also addressed. In the end, the homeowner was so happy that we eventually remodeled half the neighborhood with more homes each month. Finally for an added design feature we added a stone facade to finalize this amazing transformation.
