This amazing roofing project in Newark, Delaware features a combination roof of Standing Seam and Owens Corning Duration Shingles. When it came time to update their Victorian home, these homeowners wanted to add a WOW factor to their roof, which is exactly why they called Global Home Improvement. Instead of installing only a shingle roof, we added Standing Seam Metal Roofing to the bay window and of course the 15-foot high Turret. This turret is now the focal point of the home and took weeks to complete by our master metal roofing craftsmen.

This 1840’s house had a standing seam metal roof and integrated gutters that was well over 90 years old and was in dire need or replacement. What resulted was a brand new metal roof system with yankee gutters and custom chimney flashing on 5 very large brick chimneys. The galvalume steel roof features a snap lock system and kynar paint finish that should give this homeowner another 50+ years of metal roof enjoyment. This Delaware homeowner chose a Charcoal Gray metal roof color which accents the bright red brick facade perfectly. This homeowner was looking for a metal roof replacement and proper drainage and functionality for built-in pool gutters and couldn’t be happier. 

This may look like just a stand along garage but to this homeowner it represented their love for vintage cars. This stand-alone structure needed to stand alone and feature a unique look and style. That is why this homeowner chose Camelot designer shingle series from GAF for their roof and James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding for their dormers. This is a very important and easy design tip that many of our customers use. When installing a new roof, you can replace old wood siding on your dormers with new fiber cement siding that doesn’t need to be repainted every 5 years. Since we have to flash underneath the siding, it isn’t much more to remove it and start fresh.

We removed the old shingle roof and replaced it with a Mill Finish reflective metal roof giving it a natural mill finished metal roof look. We also replaced the siding with Tuscan Clay colored Hardie siding and added a small portico above the side entrance to protect against the elements. In addition, we replaced the downspouts with RainPro seamless gutters to match the clay siding. For this larger siding project in Wilmington, DE, we replaced the existing stucco with ProVia stone, James Hardie fiber cement planks, and new stucco remediation to compliment the new style. The existing stucco siding showed stucco tears around windows, which could be a sign of moisture infiltration.
